Children are naturally curious about the world around them. When educators recognise and nurture this curiosity, learning becomes deeper, more meaningful and more engaging. The Curiosity Curriculum: Inquiry and Project Learning for Young Children workshop explores how teachers can transform children’s questions, interests and observations into rich learning experiences. Inspired by the philosophy of the Reggio Emilia approach and contemporary inquiry-based practices, this workshop introduces educators to strategies that place curiosity at the heart of the curriculum.
Participants will explore how thoughtful observation, meaningful provocations and open-ended dialogue can spark investigation and encourage children to think, question and explore.
Across two interactive online sessions, teachers will learn how to design environments that invite exploration, support children’s thinking and guide investigations that emerge from children’s ideas. The workshop will also introduce the Project Approach as a way to extend children’s interests into deeper inquiry and collaborative learning experiences.
Through examples, discussion and collaborative planning activities, participants will gain practical strategies for implementing inquiry and project-based learning in their classrooms.
By the end of the workshop, educators will be equipped with tools to design curiosity-driven learning environments where children become active thinkers, investigators and co-constructors of knowledge.

Participants will explore the principles of inquiry and project-based learning through examples, guided reflection and small-group breakout sessions. Teachers will engage in hands-on tasks such as designing provocations and planning mini project investigations that can be implemented in their own classrooms. Real classroom scenarios and case examples will be used to connect theory with practice, enabling participants to analyse children’s thinking and consider strategies for extending inquiry.
