Making Reggio Happen is an in-depth, practice-focused workshop designed for early childhood educators working across diverse cultural and educational contexts. Moving beyond surface interpretations of ‘Reggio-inspired’ practice, this workshop invites participants to peel back the layers of the Reggio Emilia philosophy to understand its historical, theoretical and ethical foundations. Educators will explore the central operating principles of the approach and examine how these principles can be made visible through relationships, environments, documentation and pedagogy. Through reflection, dialogue, visual analysis and creative activities, participants will consider their role as facilitators-researchers and critically reflect on their own beliefs about children and learning. Emphasis is placed on respectful adaptation of Reggio Emilia rather than imitation, recognising culture, context and constraints as essential starting points.
